Visit to Connecticut

At the end of October we flew to Connecticut to visit Erik’s family—especially Bethany and Ellie who were also visiting from Vienna. As a bonus, we enjoyed some beautiful New England fall days.

It was unusual for so many leaves to be still on the trees at the end of October, but it sure made this invigorating little hike even more beautiful:

Meanwhile, back in Atlanta, Caleb had been concerned that we didn’t have any Halloween decorations so he made a few (patterned after our neighbor’s large wooden cutouts):

Meg and I finally scheduled her cake decorating class. We didn’t get too many photos of her handiwork, but she learned quite a few skills. If anyone needs a custom cake…

Beach Vacation!

The first week in October we took a family vacation to Orange Beach, Alabama. It was nicely timed between the end of Erik’s old job and the beginning of his new job. We rolled in after dark and woke up the next morning to this beautiful view.

 

Played in the surf, sand and swimming pool.

 

Explored an old fort. (My parents joined us for a few days.)

 

 

Went shelling.

 

Took bike rides.

 

Discovered wildlife.

 

Celebrated Mema’s birthday.

 

Read.

 

Enjoyed God’s handiwork.
