What's Missing in this Picutre?
Nate lost his first two teeth in June. (In case you're wondering why he has no gap to show for it--both he and Meg seem to lose their baby teeth after their permanent teeth start to grow in. Well, that plus I didn't think to take a picture until several days after the fact.)

Kate's Birthday Week
Our little Marshmallow turned 4 in May! Since Grampy and Grammy and Aunt Crista were in town for Erik's graduation just days before her birthday, we started the celebration early.
Crista, Kate still listens to the Frances books on cd almost every day in her rest time. Grammy & Grampy, scroll down to see what Kate chose to wear for her birthday and for her friend party the next weekend. :)
Nate bought her a new bubble wand.
Our family four-year-old birthday tradition is that each kid gets his/her own picture Bible, a "church bag" to carry it in, and a 4-drawer container to store allowance. I started this because at our church four is the age when kids outgrow the nursery and begin attending the first half of the worship service and children's church. Of course Kate has been coming into the first half of "big church" with us for almost a year and I've been handing her a quarter on the spot during the offering, but she was still excited about the Bible and the allowance (well, mostly the allowance.)

Breakfast request: crock pot oatmeal, bacon, raisins, apple juice and four cheerios.
She chose a Mermaid Birthday. I couldn't bring myself to have a Disney-themed party with her friends, but I did rent Little Mermaid for her to watch in the afternoon with her siblings.

Unwrapping the ocean-in-a-bag Meg made, complete
with a floating mermaid constructed out of paper.
